The New District Family
Details are just rolling in, but it looks like the District line just got a whole lot bigger. It is now comprised of 4 different models, only two of which have belt drives. Here is the quick overview.

The District Carbon. Belt drive, OCLV Carbon, $3359.

1st District. Belt drive, with retro looks. This is really the true younger brother to the 2009 District. $1099.

2nd District. No belt drive here, although it looks like it will still have the split rear triangle. I think that this is the best looking of the bunch personally, and it would make an awesome fixed gear bike. $709.

3rd District. Again no belt drive, but still a really good looking bike. $709
Huge thanks to Jerrylikesbikes for the pictures!

Wow…I don’t know what to think really. I mean…they all look nice but nothing really gets me excited like the original District. Save for maybe the Carbon model but let’s be honest, $3400 is a HUGE chunk of change!

Man… Why did they introduce this only 3 months after the original? Now I want to trade my District for a new one.

Sander you’ve just been Apple’d. Thats when manfacturers like Apple come out with the latest version of something like the Iphone only to release another new improved version a couple months down the road. So your eternally trying to have the latest best one. Wasting all your $ as they always have you jumping through hoops. Dont fall for it.Just say no to instant obsolescence. The district carbon is pretty badass though.

RE: District Carbon
Has Trek figured out the fixed (belt-drive) thing yet?
I’m currently on a Soho S fixed, and would love to upgrade to this bike… if i can ride it fixed (the price is steep, but i’ll make it happen for that frame).
Thoughts comments? Please tell me this is do-able.

not to worry, your sweet Battle Gray/Orange version isn’t going away…Trek is going to carry it forward. Like Jay says, it’s still the original!

Is the District Carbon made in the USA? Is it a Madone frame?
