I noticed that this bike opted to switch up ergonomics from the traditional right lever rear brake and left lever front brake to just the opposite. Many peeps do this I just wonder if they realize it at the time they do it? Great looking bike either way!!

Damn! This comments page has been helpful, but unfortunately in a dissuasive way. I am used to a 75 gear inch and its super perfect. The maximum gear inch possible is 74.25, but as already mentioned that requires replacing virtually everything. Far too costly, even for all the goodies this bike has. Disappointing for sure.

Do you always leave the QR's on your brakes open?

Tom, Nice job so far with your bike. I was hoping for a Beltring with one more tooth & a Beltcog with one less, so the belt length could remain the same. That woud make it a 72 gear inch, which I am used to. Maybe after they sell a few thousand Districs, the demand for higher gearing will warrant some further action on Trek's part.

I looked into changing the stock gear ratio and after talking to some people from trek it will be a costly thing to do so I decided to just learn how to spin. If you plan on changing the ratio it will require you get a new belt and rear cog along with a special Drive Sprocket strap wrench which is not available yet.
If I remember correctly the drive belt costs retail around $80 and the rear cog costs about the same. One tool I do recommend buying and can be ordered through your trek dealer is the Drive-belt tension checker "cricket tool" It will save your belt from costly wear from it either being too tight or loose. My belt was too tight and I would have never known this unless I got the tool which is another easy 80 or so I think I paid.

Have you looked into a different "beltring? or rear beltcog? My dealer says that none are available yet. I want to increase the gear inch up from the stock 67 inch.
